Painting Corners
Wednesday, May 11, 2005 10:44 AM
Ok i bought some clear corners and bumperlights. I want to take them apart to paint the insides black. I tryed putting then in the oven at 220 to losen the glue but that didnt work cuz the lens was about to start to distort. What can i do to get the lens off? Can i use something to cut the lens glue?

Thanks
Jeremy

Well Ebay and Matrix Racing dont have them. Does anyone know where i can get some or know of someone selling some. OR even a way to get my clear ones apart other then the oven because they started to distort.

Thanks

i cooked my corners at 225 for 10 minutes and then took them out and pryed them open on the side that is closest to the headlight, there is just enough room to get a screwdriver in between the clear plastic and the chrome plastic without bending them and just pull carefullly. mine didnt distort at all. you may have had them too close to the coil. make sure the rack is in the center of the oven. thats he best i can offer, it took me many tries to get it right but i got it
