Whats goin on everyone? I was just wondering if it would be possible if i could put 10,000k or 12,000k bulbs into my cavalier since they dont make projectors for our year. IF it is possible, where would i be able to find it? Our headlight housing says H5 but i have heard differently. Any help would be appriciated. thanks
later

yeah im talkin bout HIDs. if im not correct there should be some out there for cavaliers. I know they DONT make projectors for 2001s but they should make HIDS. Correct me if im wrong but im not quite sure. if there is though i would like some help with findin them.thanks everyone
they sell hid kits. dont get a 10 or 12k kit. thats too much. my buddy has a 12k in his integra and they are just way too bright
where can i get HID kits for my car (2001 Z24 Cavalier)
Just look for a 9007 Kit. Thats the bulb that the 01's use. You gonna lose your high beam since 9007 kits are only low beams

if im not correct 12K is ferrari/lamborghini lights....they dont seem bright..they just have the purple fade color to them. i think it would be sweet if i could get that color or the 10k on my car. if anyone could hook me up with a link to a site id appriciate it.
from what i have seen HID's in 2000 + headlights have to much glare and will blind on coming traffic. Man that is going to piss off a lot of people. You can use them with you stock houseing but they will have to be modified to deal with the light out put.
You can get HID's from Ebay or most places you just need to ge an HID kit for 9007. IT won't be a direct bolt on. You will have to do some modifications to get them to work properly and disable you DRL.

Who told you that. All oem kits use 4100K-4300K. The reason that you see the purple is because of the projector not the bulb.
Also the 9007 kit will be plug and play. Just adjust the beam pattern lower or make a shield like viper did to cover the top half of the bulb to reduce glare.

This is the shield that viper put into his headlights with hid's.

can u get a picture of vipers lights on at night?
he's posted these many of times.

If i'm right I believe these pics of the cavy below are vipers too. Not sure though

the reason they show purple is not because of the projector, it's because of the temp of the bulb...
like 1200k will be more dim, but produce a purple-ish light...
8000-10000k will produce a blue-ish light...
correct me if I'm wrong, but thats what I have read...
so what will the 9007 K hid look like since thats what everyone is sayin to get?
When you drive at night and see cars lights filckering blue/purple its the projectors. If the whole beam is purple/blue including the light on the floor then its the bulb.

It depends on the K rating that you get. Theres 4100K-4300K which is OEM. Then there are other kits that range from 5000K-14000K

You can see all that glare. from the head lights because they have no sheild like above

Theres always gonna be some sort of glare when you put hids into a halogen reflector housing. It probably won't affect the other drivers if you aim the headlamps lower than stock.
