04 clear corners legal question
Thursday, April 07, 2005 9:12 PM
I have a 2004 cavalier and am planning on starting work on it this weekend, starting with making the clear corner headlights. My question is I'm from IL(south suburb of chicago) and was wonder if having clear corners was some way illegal. Whether you need the amber for a turn signal. I know on rigs each light needs to be a certain color but i wasn't sure. Thank You

Me and Cheesecake both have it done. I've gotten tickets for car being loud, no front plate, crap like that. He gets pulled over once a week for window tint and the clear lights have never been mentioned to either of us for the past year (where both in NW chicago suburbs... Schaumburg area) I have Silverstar headlights but left the stock bulbs in the sides so they apear some what amber compared to the SIlverstars, I don't knwo if that made a difference or not in how legal they are but at night DO NOT use your turn signals while facing a cop, the turn signals will be brighter then your brights

Get the silverstar bulbs for the main turn signal they are silverish looking normally, but then light up amber.

The sidemarker must be a amber reflector. if you remove it, its illegal, but you shouldnt get bothered by the cops as long as u put a amber bulb in there.
