I am looking at getting an underbody light kit for my car, but have heard that LED are better than neons due to reliability and light quality.
I posted the same question a couple weeks ago and the replies I got broke down to basically this:
As long as you buy a high-quality LED kit from a reputable manufacturer, than LED kits are much better than neons.
i have a Lite-Glo LED kit on my car, my only complaint about it is the LED's shine down so directly, that it literally looks like you've got red dots under your car, lol.
it is kinda cool though, cause most LED kits come with a control box that you can get the lights to make patterns(EX: chase, strobe, chaos)

I've got the PlasmaGlow 7 color LED kit from
A+ Perfromance. It's cool because you can cycle between red, blue, green, purple, aqua, white, and lime at the push of a button. Plus the tubes are lexan so they wont break, and you can get a wireless upgrade and control your lights from outside of the car.
