i just got a door ding... a minor one but it still bugs me and i was wondering if anyone had the paintless dent removal done on any of their cars, and if so how it worked?

PDR is great for small dings however it is very limited to what is actualy able to be done PDR the dent much be very very minor but it works just great if PDR is doable on the dent

(Insert really cool picture of my car with some catchy name or slogan here)

PDR is great if its in the right location. I work @ a shop and Ive seen it done many many times. They cant get to certian dents though if their in a bad location. Also the smaller the better too.

the first winter i had my cav i went out t shovel my driveway i slipped on some ice and put 3 big dents in my quarter panel.a company called dent wizard came out and got them out but there is a small wave in the panel but its better than 3 shovel dents.most people dont even notice the wave.i would check into it

Yeah depending on the dent will depend on how well it comes out... if that makes any sense... (I just woke up) Usually, if the dent has a slight crease to it, it won't come out totally, but it'll be less noticeable.

I work for a shop and the only way they cannot take the dent out (sometimes its not perfect) if its on a "body line" of the car.......like say you have a ding right next to your lock cylinder on your door.....its not coming out b/c where the lock cylinder goes the body dips in a little bit.......but cavaliers don't have too many "body lines" they are more streamlined.....thats my 2cent

we were on the subject of paintless dent repair thats what i was talking about sorry if I confused anybody......of course any dent can be taken out....otherwise there would be alot of wrecked cars and nobody to fix em.....or really high repair bills to replace parts instead of repair body parts...hehe

In my experiance PDR is crap and hardly ever works. Granted it can work, but your very limited to what it can fix.

I have it done to my car at the beginning of every season. NO it is not crap--it's worth every penny, especially in comparison to the alternative. Don't expect to get off cheap, though.

I used PDR on my non-j-body. Some "nice" person hit and run my car, pushing the front fender in a few incheson the lip, right above the bumper. I checked around for estimates in repairs, I think they ranged from $450 to over $1000. I noticed a PDR place, and talked to them about it. They said they could work on it, but could not guarantee a perfect job since it was on a body line, and on the fender lip. I told them to do the best they could. So, after a few hours, the dent is still a bit wavy, bit it is good enough to fool a dealer. They also massaged out a few door dings. They are 100% gone. All this for $50 total. Bargain.

I liked the idea of keeping the stock OEM paint, since body work could reduce trade-in value, some non-factory paint jobs I have seen are not durable, and paint matching could be a problem since the car was over seven years old.
