By the way nice turbo set up, how much boost you plan on running? As far as street and or track. What size injectors (if not stock) do you plan on using?
Ryne--Tutorial and pics have been sent.
Good Luck.
Rick--Thanks! With this new built motor, I'm trying to acheive at least 250whp but on low boost. My plan for now is to run a max of 10psi, def. no more until someone works out the MSD units for the ecotec. I use stock injectors, coupled with an SDS extra injector controller using two 42lb. lime green top Ford Racing injectors. Like I said this time I'll be tuning with the AEM wideband thats been gathering dust here.
Anyone else who is interested, I've been thinking of doing this to some LS Sport Bumpers then selling them. This way you can buy it already done, or I can do it for you if you are worried about ruining your bumper. Ask Ryne, the way I cut and shaped these bad boys is top notch. I will have one or two shortly, I know not many will be interested but I'll still do a couple. Anybody interested, just shoot me an email.

Yes it is for sale. Check your mail.
No, no need to paint at all.
Looks as if it could've come this way factory.
Very nice McNulty!! If you ever have a second, Id really likea copy of the tutorial and pics by email
g.brochuREMOVETHIS@rogers.com ! Thanks a lot!
I got a 03 cavy LS with the same bumper, and I when its really windy and at high speeds, like 85-90mph and up, the front end was vibrating like mad, you could actually see the dash move up and down a lot! They never could fix it until a mechanic had theb riliant idea of attaching the radiator plastic lip (that guides air up to the radiator ) to the bottom of the bumper, where its quite flexible. Fixed 90% of the problem. Now my concern is, would cutting the bumper make it even more flexible, making the problem worse???
Anybody else with this problem??
Also, in my front stock bumper, I have a nice 3.5in crack running along the very edge of the bottom lip, passenger side on the front corner, thanks to a huge pothole. How could I fix that? Would epoxy do the trick??
Thanks all!
I like the grille thing that's in there stock
Maybe its just me
GBro, I have that same problem @ 75+ mph my dash starts to vibrate alot.
Btw I have an 03 sport. Does anyone know if this problem could be solve by maybe getting a different front bumper.
hey wuts up, i've been wanting to do that to my bumper but i didnt kno wut to use. i was thinkin if i cut it down to where just enough on the grill parts were there, and then i was thinkin if i sanded it down to match the bumper. let me kno if you think that would work, i dont wanna risk anything. so got to get all the ways b4 i try. thanks
G-little, That WILL NOT work. If you feel your bumper you'll see what I mean. Feel where the "GRILL BARS" meet the bumper.
I explain on the first page, if you cut the bars off where they meet the bumper...You will have big empty V-Shapes everywhere a grill bar met the bumper.
You must instead cut IN FRONT of all the grill bars. Take a GOOD look at ALL my pics, and read my posts. It should be pretty straight forward if you do.
Good Luck, don't cut off any fingers.
lssportcoupe: We have the same bumper, and what I could understand from the mechanics is that the bumper is the culprit; the base 03Cavs without the LS lips don't have this problem. So another bumper would definately fix (or make worse!) the problem. By the way, the guy also suggested, If I was able, to put a piece of stiff yet light wood and glue it or screw it inside that lip, where it,s all soft and flexy. I'm tearing it apart this weekend to cut the grills and try to make it stiffer ( spring is here, so time to change wheels and to wax the car!). I'll tell you how it,s been, and if it helps.
Oh and, McNulty, think you could send the pics and tutorial at g.brochu@rogers.com ? Thanks !!!
LOL there isn't really a tutorial. I posted two more close up shots, to show exactly how I cut the top and bottom. Look closely, study my pics. Take your time. Oh, and on page one is a brief description of how to cut them. Good Luck!
i have started the process..its very easy with a jigsaw..i tried a razor but it was too much work..i just gotta get it all smooth and even..
This must be getting old Mcnulty but could you send me some of the pics you took while cutting it out..thanks
