I was bored so I decided to clean up what I hated about the 03+ LS Sport bumper.
With a utility knife, I smoothly cut away all the grill work from both the bottom and top of the bumper. I think it turned out pretty good, heres some pics.
My Car has been sitting since New Years Eve with a blown motor. Sure could use a bath.
My machine shop called today, he's just waiting on me to get him the patriot head. I had him polish/balance crank, wiseco 8.9:1 pistons .020 over, Eagle Rods, ARP head studs, cometic head gasket. While its down I also bought a shiny new FMIC, Turbosmart 38mm Ultragate, Haas is making me a brand new log manifold, and my new turbonetics t3/to4e 50trim .48ar stage3 turbo just came yesterday.
So, lots of stuff going on. Can't wait til its all over. Its been a lot of hard work and a lot of money so far, but I know its gonna all be worth it when I'm cruisin this spring.
Still hurts to see my baby like this, ^^^ lol.

Looks good now through some mesh behind it
I really like it, u did a great job bro. And a utility knife is all u needed?? Is there any other tips u wanna share with me cause i was thinking of doing the same thing with my 03 front. Thanks

no mesh looks real good the way it is
maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow....... but some day
LOL, just a steady hand and a utility knife bro.
I use a double sided blade, my carpet knife. Just keep changing the blades, keep them sharp. I drew a line in pen to get a guideline, then just follow the best you can.
Once you get it roughed out, you'll have to keep going over it til you achieve OEM-like straightness and smoothness, lol.
Also you cant just saw the grill/nubs off where they attach. If you did, you'd have big v's every place a grill bar met the bumper. You have to go in front of the grills and cut it COMPLETELY out.
Same for the top, first cut/unattach the 3 grill bars from where they meet the CHEVY EMBLEM SUPPORT THING. Then smoothly cut in front of where the 3 grill bars meet the bumper, just like on the bottom.
Hard to explain, I hope you guys understand.
Good Luck! I have more pics, if needed.

what happened to your extreme tuner front? the custom bumper looks hot though.
I Still have it, its got some cracks in it though. They go back together seamlessly, I was wondering if anyone knows if its fixable.
The bumper is made of 1152 Lustran ABS plastic.
If not I'm just going to buy another.

Not positive yet. I'll see when its pulled. Could have been a weak rod, but I think I either hit the rev limiter or it leaned out. It all happens so quick its hard to tell.
I have an AEM wideband now. So with that and a fully built motor, I should be set. Still gotta stay off the limiter though, lol.
in keeping with helping members
thats why they make msd dude
you can set a high end limiter, I will set mine at 6200 or 6300 (spark cut instead of fuel cut)
