First off- I have searched and haven't found much of anything that can help me out.
Okay, I bought some of these off ebay. I haven't received them yet, but I am pretty sure they are for a four door because toyota mirrors for a 2 door are very hard to find. Maybe I will luck out, but I doubt it-- so I will probably have to make them fit. Is this real hard to do?
My other question is: Do you NEED power door locks and power mirrors to get these to fold in by themselves? I know you have to wire them up to your power door locks somehow- or so I have read- & my car did not come with this option. What are some other options I may have when hooking these up? I like the idea of the mirrors folding when the car is turned off. Could this be done? I do not plan on getting power door locks because my door handles will be shaved soon and it would be pointless, so I am looking for other options on how to make these fold in.
Instructions on how to install these would also be nice or any other advice u wish to give. If these are too hard to fool with I may sell them, but we will see....
help~!!!
Instructions: search in the archives with the key words..toyota mirrors: TRD Cav: instructions..etc trust me its in there. I just cant remember the exact title.
I saw that auction and it is for the 4 door mirrors. Dont sweat it youll just have to trim and fab the sail portion of the mirror.
As far as the folding portion youre going to need the relay which is more rare than the mirrors themselves..good luck on that as I gave up trying to find them myself.

Again when you find the Instructions TRD posted..youll find the answer to this too.

Not hard but its not a simple bolt on.
If you bought them you might as well search more and get all the info you can to make them work.
But trust me if you search in the right places youll find that the info you need is all over the exterior forum...you may have to dig in the archives for some but most of them or actually only a few months old.
Good luck with it.
Say it with me, "Its not what you know...It's what you can prove"

Like I said above- I have searched and searched and searched. I have searched and looked on several different sites & have found nothing that will help me & I typed in all the keywords u told me to. I have found ways to install them and so fourth, but nothing about them folding when the car is turned off because most fold when you lock the doors with keyless entry-- power door locks. Which I do not have. You basically told me to search-- which I have already done.
Thanks anyway. =)
clicky clicky

Yes.... but... "These directions are if you have power mirrors already."...... I don't.... So what do I do, just go to the junk yard and pick up a wiring harness from a cavy with power mirrors?
i dont have power mirros and i used thos instructions, all you do is buy a crap load of wire and make your own connections from the switch, relay, and mirrors

if you dont have the relay. the mirrors wont fold. only one person i know got them to work with out the relay box.. but it kind of sucked he said.
and. you dont need power windows in the first place. its easy to install.
if you have a car alarm you can hook them up to it. so they fold in withthe car off.
yes search. lol

I was under the impression that u needed power door locks in order for the mirrors to fold in. I've read how several people lock their doors with remotes and then their mirrors fold in. I don't have this option. But obviously I was under the wrong impression. =)
I don't have a car alarm-just a shaved door handle kit. Is there anyway they could be hooked up without a car alarm- to fold in when the car is turned off? Or do they do that anyway?
Okay, a stock, cheap model cavalier with no power features (mine)--- you have the relay and the switch- everything needed to hook these up, when do these mirrors fold in? When the car is turned off? That's my question. That's what I need to know.

ok the power mirror option for normal cavaliers are powered all the time. so i made the toyota mirrors powered all the time since my car had power mirrors.
the door lock thing was an option. you dont need it. but if you want im sure you can some how wire it in to the door poper situation you have.
so in all if you wire them like normal mirrors they are powerd and will fold in all the time. when you hit the button. . so
its up to you
and get a bigger picture of you .
email me if you need more help. everyone does

I have a feeling I will need a lot more help~! But I will just wait until I get them and start to hook them up before I ask anymore questions. In the meantime, I need to find a relay and that other stuff I need.
A bigger picture of me..... ??
& u will probably be receiving an e-mail when I get them....
thanks for the help so far.
Really all you need to do is extend 7 wires on each side, run a ground wire, a power wire, and then you can wire mirrors into a switch to fold for now. Also just a hint you might want to get different colored wire. It will help you.
I got my mirrors today. I was wondering if ALL Toyota Cavalier mirrors are power folding? Do some of them have to be manually folded? These are REAL heavy, but I am not seeing a motor or anything. These mirrors have three wires: a red wire, a black wire, and a yellowish colored wire. I assume these aren't the power mirrors? Also, these appear to be the two door mirrors~ sheww I hope they are. I haven't tried to put them on yet. Here are some pictures:

i belive you are the first to get tppta power mirrors with out the power folding option. so yes you have the manual foldin mirrors since there is only 3 wires per mirror.

lol... oh well, I will survive. It does figure though that I would be the first to get the ones without the power folding option. I guess I mine are extremely rare huh? LMAO... Ahh, I still like the way they look. Good thing I only gave $40 for them! =)) I'm not angry~! They are for a two door and they do look nice-- I'm still rather pleased!
=))
good god those mirrors are hot, just a little different but still, soo much better looking
