Man, they are just f*cking with you.
Your going to need the headlights, blulbs, wiring harness and mounting brackets.
It would help too if you already had the fenders, hood and front bumper that you like so they can cut into it or around it to make it look good.

What headlights you doing ?

well, let's see... it requires modifying your hood, fenders, bumper, radiator support and making it all fit up as if it were made for your car... not an easy task by any means. since you claim to have the money (we're talking in the several thousand dollar range), take your car to a body shop and tell em what you want.

how much we talkin u think??? I really dont wanna spend any more than 6k on the outside of my car so 1k for the kit, 350 bux for the wide body, 1k for my rims, 600 on the suspention and another k on the paint so thats 4, and say 700 bux for the wing and tails so 1300 bux is wuts left for the outside budget, the d00d at the body shop will do all my @!#$ for dirt cheap cause I know the d00d, I could probably persude him to do the headlight convertion for free cept parts and beer so u think 1300 would cover just the parts?? or u think I should suck it down and wait or our projectors or get some eye lids??

well, if the guy will do the work for free (or cheap) then why are you asking anything? just have him do the sh*t.

I dunno beer and 1300 bux isnt really a dent on what it would really cost if he added up all the labor for it. There is a lot of metal work that would need to be done and I would say it would take a good 2 weeks to get jsut the headlights done working on them 5 days a week. That is jsut a ball park guess on how long it would take but i woudl say he could end up chargeing u around 4-6 grand for the headlights.

:O he probably woudlnt let that much slide, I figured a month with workin on it sat and sun

do you think I could get custom eylids made or somthing?? all I want is a more agressive look :o
Re: Headlight conversion

if all you want is a more agressive look, and eyelids will do it for you.... then look up O3 Cav Fire's registry... he did eyelids on his 03+ hood. looks a hell of a lot better than before.

but if you still want a headlight swap, then talk to your body guy buddy and find out from him how much he's going to charge for the work.

i couldnt have said it better myself.

depending on the headlights you want to swap to, some will be easier than others. from what ive seen the 95-99 eclipse lights are somewhat similar in size/shape to the 95-02 cavs. maybe you could swap to an older front and then do that conversion.

or you could go all out and try to do the craziest conversion you can think of and put, i dunno, mclaren headlights on your car. of course you wont be able to even find those for under 1300 each.....

but regardless of what you choose....ask your own body man. prices on EVERYTHING varies by where you live. around here you can get a full body kit painted and installed for under $500. but ive heard of people in other cities paying $1000-1500. so the same thing will apply to body work. good luck with whatever you decided and if you actually do something, post pics

my headlight conversion only cost me $800 and that also included repairing and molding the rear bumper and spraying the whole car primer

no, those are sylvia headlights... the eclipse headlights are shaped similar to cavy lights, but still different.

I know this is an old post but gonna play 20 questions with ya Freak of Nature(1loudcavy), is the hood a cav hood or nismo hood? same goes for the fenders? I'm looking into some series work here. and was curious if you used all cav parts cept the lights. Cause body work doesn't bother me. Just not sure what route i am going to have to travel to get to my destination.

Re: Headlight conversion

There isnt really a way to estimate for a headlight conversion. Some lights require bodywork and a little underlying fabrication while others like mine require alot of structural modifications. The bodyshop ended up cutting everything off the front of my car infront of the motor. They rebuilt the front of my car out of round tubing. Had to get a smaller radiator and cutting off about 12" of the support rails that are under the fenders. I had them shorten the front of my car about 9" plus they shortened the RSX bumper another couple inches.

Heres what they cut off and also the new headlights about 3 months ago. Everything is done now.
