I replaced my stock foglights w/ the SS 880's and one of them already burned out, I installed them on 11-05-04 and it died on 1-10-05
............so I went to Wal-Mart and bought a new bulb $19.77..... and replaced it, but noticed that the new one is LESS whiter and brighter then the one that is on the driver side, and before the old bulb died they were the same brightness, now one is brighter then the other.......... So, anyways I wasn't very happy w/ the fact that one bulb is brighter then the other, so I did the same thing and went back to Wal-Mart, and bought a new bulb...........and then now the new bulb is ALOT BRIGHTER then the one that is on the driver side...........Any Ideas why this is?????????
well, A) why do you drive around with the fog lamps on all the time? lol and B) i've never had a problem with them... isnt there some kind of warrenty with the bulbs?
as for brightness, it could be just your imagination, or it could however be differences in the bulbs, or the wiring to the bulbs or the connections at the bulbs... <br>

Same here, one of my silverstar 880's burnt out after like 6 weeks. I bought a new one, and its been fine since. I really like the look of them though, so I'll probably keep buyin them. <br>

I personally drive with my foglights on all the time.
But anyways, have you tried cleaning the lights? Not the bulb, the lens. There might be dirt or dust on it that's dimming the brightness.

I did this post a couple of months ago and my new passenger foglight was doing good until yesterday. I replaced it on 1-10-05 and it died 4-6-05 (yesterday). The same side (passenger)........meanwhile the driver side is still going, I had the foglights installed on 11-05-04 and the driver side is still going but the passenger side has already died on me TWICE.......... When I installed it, I made sure NOT to touch the bulb with my fingers and it still died on me.........What do u guys think??????? Just bad luck with two bad Silverstar 880 foglights that keeps dying ever 2-3 months or maybe something else??? I'm going to swap it for a new SS bulb today and hopefully this one can last me at least 6 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Walmart has a 90 day return policy. You could have gotten a new bulb for free instead of paying 20 bux for a new one. If youre so worried about them burning out, why do u keep them on all the time?

were's a thought, try a different brand and/ or a different wattage. and if one burns out, buy two bulbs and keep the good one as a spare. that way, the bulbs wear equaly

i have the 893's and one of mine just burnt out too, and i think i put them in back in august or november. what a pos, im going back to eurolites.

I just buy a new foglight and then go back home and swap the old one out, then take the old one back and get a refund......Just got done doing it and the new one is working fine and hopefully it'll last this time!!!!!!!!
