just put a new engine in my 2000 cav. i have put 3 in my car 2 of them had the same problem. it seems to lose power after 2nd gear. it will stay in 3rd and not redline until it has no choice. it just doesnt have any balls.im not sure if it is a vacume problem or not. the car will launch properly and has power off the line but when it gets to the longer gears it doesnt want to pull anymore esspecially 3rd. well i hope some one can help me figur it out thanks.
Dude what the hell happened to your cav its like half way in the ditch!
Heh, the OHV DOESNT have any balls!
3 motors and still this problem?
Is it a trans issue? clutch worn?
If it was a vacuum problem you'd know at idle most likely. check all the lines and spray some starting fluid around the tb and intake manifold, itll tell you if youve got a leak somewhere.
its def not a clutch or trans prob the clutch only has like 600 miles on it. the first motor i had was running 15.9 which isnt to bad for a 2200. its def something to do with vacume when i pump the breaks the car almost stalls. i just dont know exactly what it is. the manifold is leaking but that shouldnt cause that much power loss i get beat by cars that run 18's now haha.
