So for those of you that arent in the know. running a timinng setup on an ecotec motor with the MS is hard real hard. the waste spark setup doesnt like to work with out modifaction to an early ECU and even then it still hard to make run right.
however the simple and easy task is to just bite the bullet and drop the cash on an HPT setup. not only do you get acess to anything you could ever want to change on the car, but you also have a beautiful litte rpm vs map table that you can change your timing curve on.
however. as we all know the car is like a small town. you cannot just introduce different cultres into the mix with out it fliping out. /end bad analogy
what Im trying to say is that normally your car works with the fuel system and timing system together in order to produce the correct amount of spark and fuel. if you throw in two different systems to control the burn indepently what issues would you run into
I really cant think of anything, seeing as how the car really doesnt need control of fuel to keep itsel safe. as long as I have an intact knock sensor and its still controling timing. is should be able to work with itself being blind to the fuel setup right?

Are you ok?
Timing control with ms is very simple ,obd1 coil pack ,msns-e code ,and about an hour to solder in the exra outputs.
this is the same on ALL gm engines with a 7x reluctor.
did you change your name?
Is there a howto on this. I couldnt find any hard data just a bunch of speculation from diggerent people with different methods.
how do you swap out the coil pack for the eco plugs if there coil on plug?
do I still use the stock crank signal?
plus there is one huge thing. hpt is a serious freind to have on your side. its got so much factory control. I could really use the benifit of all that changability. Im more concerand on the compatibilty of the two together.
but any help on anything is greatly appreciated.
