Hey guys,
Now that I got my car back into some racing form I am doing a lot of testing with the 04 ECU and have discovered that it is way too random with the AFRs for a motor and setup like mine.
I would like to play around with a 03 ECU program and see if that helps me any. Anyone who can email me the .bin or .hpt or whatever extension file is the programming would be a hero to me.
Thanks.

Should I help you or just be a dick like you when people ask for help?

You should suck a fat one. I seem to be the only one doing any research and work to see what ECUs and tune combos will actually work for the Hi-Po Eco guys so you need to go away. If you want me to start keeping my findings and research to myself I can easily do that. I really have no problem fixing my car and letting everyone else figure @!#$ out for themselves.

Thank you for answering my question.

If your the only person with a 03 file then I'd rather go to the dealership and pay the $20 to get my ECU flashed to the 03 VIN I have.

I have a question. Since you are asking for the file you have HPT correct? If so why does it matter what year ECU, or file you use? Can't you adjust the tune and the desired AFR you want? I'm just trying to understand the problem your seeing. Thanks
FU Tuning
the year shouldn't matter ryne, you can change whatever you want with hpt.
there's no difference in setup between 02-05 ecus, just the programming
and with hpt you can correct all that anyway
No, there ARE differences. I guess no one bothers to pay attention to what I've already discovered about the 04-05 ECU so from now on I'll keep my findings private. Keep on thinking that HPT + the 04 ECU will fix everything.

LOL , now now children , play nice in the sand box , or we will fill it with kitty litter
hypsy you talking the fact the late 03 through 05 pcm lock in at certain afr value ? or you talking something different ?
the afr lock can be changed with HPT , for some it is easier to start with a 02-early 03 program
For some reason the 04-05 PCM doesn't kick into OL like it's supposed to 100% of the time. It seems to randomly choose when it wants to obey the commands.
The 03 seems to be a more forgiving speed density setup that seems to very easily go into OL.
That's what I'm talking about.

Who whoa there...slow your roll. Are you correcting Dypsy?

Whatever it's called, it's being a royal PITA.

Whoa whoa....is someone being a douchbag? I think so. Time to get the sand out of your vagina and find something better to do.

i think that is why the afr stays the same , no matter how much fuel you try to add
hpt should be able to correct it , if your still having a issue then you might not have found 1 of the needed value changes

wouldnt the 03-04 pcm be the same seeing that nothing changed during those last three years?? just wondering
Built&Boosted moar
04 Cavalier Turbo r.i.p my baby
2nd place 2009 GM tuner bash qwick 8--holla
emissions standards changed , which GM changed the programing in the pcm
the older pcm will go right into the PE tables , and the newer 1s dont

Thanks for posting this. Sorry I have not seen it posted before (I do not read every post on this site). I'm confused, what is OL?? I know what PE is, but have not heard of OL. I'm just trying to learn as much as I can, and if people are having issues with certain year ECU I'm just wanting to know in case I come across this.

Matt: GM changed the way the computer worked between 02 and 03 and then again from 03 to 04. Each time it got progressively harder to make the computer add the needed fuel.
Eric: I know I got everything changed that should be needed to function properly. I think GM has some kind of back-up programming in the 04 that makes it go to 14.7:1 no matter what, or so it seems.
If I could get 02 AND early 03 AND late 03 ECU files I could see exactly how each one reacts to different conditions.

I just thought I would let be know I to very much am having this problem and it has begun to seriously piss me off, I was wondering what I was doing wrong. This kind of helps clear things up.
