I searched but have only found people telling others to swap the ecu and engine harness.

I want to get hptuners, but am stuck with my 96'. Has anyone successfully swapped in the 97 ecu and harness? If so do you have any pictures or pointers? And after the swap was there any running problems with the vehicle?

If someone has done it and gives me advice...when I go to do mine I will post a step by step and post pictures as well.

Are you talking about the 99" ecm swap to elimanate the egr? If so thats what you need is a 99" ecm to do that and yes a diffrent wireing harness. I was going to do that but i figured is was to much to do so i gave up. If you need a 99" ecm let me know i have one for sale.

Nah, I was referring to swapping to a 97+ ecu so that I can run hptuners. But maybe i'll check into other options.

I did mine ('96 to '97-'99) then to a '00. I just took the pinout diagrams and repinned the connectors to the 2 connector setup. I took a bunch of pic's of how-to-repin but never sat down long enough to do a right up. I can try to send you the file if you want.

The pinout diagrams used to be on the ny-jbody site but it's down for some reason.

Seeing how to tune it the ECU needs to be 97 i want to do it. If its not that big of a job.

i have a 96 2.4l z24 ... can i put high impedance injectors without blowing my ecu ? i need help
