cartech adjustable FMU

I recently purchased a Cartech 2025 adjustable FMU, and I got it hooked up, and it doesnt seem to be working right. The question that I have is if I need to keep the stock FPR on the car, or remove it. I was told from a member of this site, that I have to remove the stock FPR, but the instruction manual that came with the FMU said to leave it on. I just want to double check, so if any one knows the answer,i would greatly appreciate it.

Thankyou

Generally, a FMU is attached entirely in the fuel return line. Upon boost the FMU diaphragm closes and prevents fuel from returning to the gas tank. This in turn builds pressure in the fuel rail resulting in more fuel being forced into the engine when the injectors open. The more boost it sees the more the diaphragm closes. When not in boost the FMU is wide open allowing fuel to flow freely through it and back to the tank. When not in boost the FPR is responsible for controlling fuel pressure in the system. Therefore the FPR should be left intact. This is information I picked up through reading and researching. This is how my FMU is set up. I am in all honestly a newbie when it comes to these things so you might want an opinion from some of the more experienced people on here. As far as I know though, the FPR should stay intact.

Thanks for the info. I know that the cartech has a built in AFPR, but like I said, the instructions say to leave the stock one in also, So I am not sure what to do. Right now I am running two fprs, I dont know what to do, so any more help would be great.

thank you

u keep the stock one in. u need one on the rail to adjust the idle pressure. on the cartech the screw on top adjusts for 0 vac at which point on a tubo car that didnt come turbo, there would be a lean spot. so u use that screw to richen it up. then u use the side adjustment screw for the ratio of boost.

DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
