High RPM VE Tuning
Thursday, April 12, 2007 6:30 AM
Ok, so I went out and did some logging. I disabled DFCO, closed-loop operation, and set the ect vs start-up ect tables to 255. I set the target pe afr to 11.9. I read on HPTuners forums to do paste special>multiply by % instead of paste special>add.....so that's what I did. I just wanted to double check here...also if anyone has time could you look over the modifications I made.

You need to smooth out those peaks and valleys, there should be smooth transitions, no sudden changes, a nice smooth curve similar to the top one. Otherwise you get irregular fueling.

I took a little bit of time and smoothened out the VE table on this one. got rid of most of the dips, and you had a huge drop over 140kpa which if you had any boost spikes for any reason it would have pulled fuel, so I raised that to the same or more. I am not saying this is the best VE in the world, but I will say it has all the numbers you had in it, and it is way smoother, so it is the better of the 2. Keep in mind with any engine tuning you can damage parts so always ask questions first then test it out.

Cool cool I hope I'm getting it lol...

I just need to have the histogram open and make sure I hit most of the cells...

Now, I have another question real quick. I'm trying to tune out the knock retard and I'm using a custom histogram.
HERE

First of all, is that set up right? And second, I just take the data I get from that and paste special->subtract in the Main Spark HO (PE) Table, right? And then smooth it out a tad?

Thanks!
