I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get a standalone wiring harness (for the computer/engine controller) for a 2.2 with a 5 speed. I would prefer not to hack apart a complete harness. The application is for bracket racing.

you can get a spare harness and you won't have to hack apart your stock one.

I've found a company that produces them. They even provide a nice picture of their harness so I can determine what is used and what isn't if I want to make my own.
