not new...
but the g-tech does the same thing, and im sorry, im just not seeing them being accurate.

Why not? BMEP and Hp and tq. figures can be calculated in real time by the computer. mechanical losse by accesories and transmission can also be figured into equation. Chassis dyno manufacturers will not tell you that they can be off anywhere by 3-5% and still be accurate. Don't trust dyno figures as gospel just cause the guy says so.

you're f---ing kidding, right?
dynos are primarily for tuning, in other words being able to put the car through various throttle positions and loads in order to tune fuel maps properly.
if people buy a little peice of crap computer to see what the run in the 1/4 mile or how much "hp" they're making thats fine but that thing is no more use in tuning a car than a shoelace.
and if you're trying to tell me that thing is more accurate than a dyno... wow
I think he's trying to say it's no less accurate than a dyno. I worked in a shop with a chassis dyno for a couple of years and I was really unimpressed. How can you accurately determine a 3 - 5 hp gain when you can watch hp readings change by 3 - 5 hp between runs, without making any changes? The best thing the dyno did imo was apply a load against the wheels / engine and display WB readings. Great for tuning without being all over the road.

^ That is what I was trying to say. I am not saying it will replace a dyno. It is another tool for tuning.
I have noticed Every time I have posted on here someone flames me. Real friendly bunch. I read here and learn because I have kids who will be driving in a couple of years, and I grew up with V8 muscle cars but my kids like Sport compacts. I just want them to enjoy cars as much as I did, and want to help them if I can.

people do use them for tuning, actaully a book i was reading from motorbooks workshop also suggest using a g-tech if you don't have access to a dyno, and keep all constants the same, it will show a increase/decrease
