ive got a interesting setup (bob guptil style) carbed 2.2 with a 2.0 tbi head holley 2300 350 cfm carb 2200 pistons .450 lift regrind cam

problem i have is car runs great for 3 laps than starts to sputter and shoot flames out the exhaust. ive talked to a guy running this setup on his 87 tbi car no issues. from what i can gather is my car is going into limp mode and backing up the timing only sensors that are currently hooked up are map knock and iat . im going to try and make a bracket for the tps to hook to the carb do you think this will help? car is currently running a touch rich running 110 leaded race fuel so detonation shouldn't be a problem. sorry for the thrown together info just need some ideas car is infact obd 1 but being a 95 it has the obd2 port (car is a 5 speed) can i swap in a 87 ecu?
