OK, hear me out
I have a lsj I am wanting to convert to turbo-- so what if I take all the supercharger parts and put them on a 2.2 cavalier engine and run it on a cobalt ecm.
doing so I need to swap cranks from a 07 and newer engine because it has the 58x trigger ring
anything else?
what do you think??
not going to work with balt ecm
Sig thanks to bxmobkrazey on gmscf.com
You would need every wire out of the cobalt to make it work with the cobalt ecm. Our two systems are not compatible at all.
Yeah the cobalt ECU will not work in a cavy.
Why not do the first part. Turbo the balt, and put the supercharger on the cavy just use the cavy ECU. No internal motor parts to change. You can tune the ECU in the j just fine for that supercharger.
FU Tuning
I have all that, engines can be run as a "stand alone" -- I was one of the first to swap in a V6 in a 3RD gen jbody by piggybacking
jb
I have no tuning skills (lol)
Dunno what to say... It just is not compatible.
So like meth said throw the charger stuff on the cavie and then use the cav ECM.
As for the tune just get the gm flash if your not wanting something crAzy. There is a guy that can do the gm reflash for $100. Ship it to him and he will flash it for u.
WhAts to gain using the cobalt ECM?
LOL...( not at you man...)
John the real reason is the reluctor wheel count. An external wheel timed correctly would fix that issue... its doable but would be a lot of work.

You forgot the cobalt is drive by wire.
Its no big deal. Get a C6 corvette throttle pedal, have EFI Harnesses make the pcm into a standalone, and run a 60-2 external reluctor wheel. Or just for the same money and effort run an actual standalone

If I can get that j reflash, that would be the quickest and easiest
