Got someone looking into tuning a 2000 LN2 for a turbo. My car is the same year but mine runs a map sensor and the 2.2 apparently uses TPS. Just posting here for a buddy to see what people are doing for the TPS setups. I was doing a little looking around and found this in another thread:
You could fake a 2 bar tune with a 2 bar sensor, and just double the value in each KPA cell in each of the MAP driven tables (for example, 50kpa would now be 100kpa on the axis, you would just need to keep it straight in your head).
I'm not familiar with tuning so this is more to help the guy with tuning the 2.2. With my car running a map it wasn't an issue with tuning. Are people swapping to a post 2000 ecu from a LD9/Eco? Just looking for some info on this topic.
Just a little more info on the topic I found in the thread I mentioned above:
I highly discourage this unless you are a more experienced tuner. Please also note that doing a fake 2/3 BAR tune will only give you control over the timing tables and the idle fueling table. There are are some 97 files that were MAP based fueling, but for the most part these PCMs are TPS fueling bases (Also known as ALPHA N).
Because the car is a 2000, you could flash the ecu with a LD9 GM Reflash (like what is on your car).
This is what I would do.

Agreed.... Both my car, and my wife's Boosted LN2's are are on a modified version of the LD9 SC Reflash.

So where its TPS vs Map that doesn't affect things?

What do you mean?
stock out cars are TPS x RPM.
GM Reflash is MAP x RPM.

I think your getting confused. Stock our platform references tps vs. rpm to fuel, with the reflash it references map vs. rpm. All (with the exception of 97) 96-02 jbodys start off with tps vs rpm....they all have a tps and a map from the factory. Our cars use a map sensor for timing. When you put the reflash on the ecu it now reads map vs. rpm and also requires replacing the stock 1 bar map sensor with a 2 bar map sensor. Thats the only difference hardware wise between the two setups.
How can one get this reflash?

I am sure one of us could send you a file.

would this be a file I could use with Tuner Cats? for an OBD1 computer? probably not right?
