I have a 96 2.4l lowerend with the 2.3 oil pump swap, top end is all 2.3l. I want to put my motor in a 93 beretta gtz. My biggest problem is with the CPS (crank postion sensor) not sure what my options are here? The rest is no problem. Any help from anyone would be great. Thanks
Cps shouldn't be a problem since the 2.4 crank is in the 2.4 block. The problem only comes up when you make a stroker cus the censor position in the block and on the crank are different between the engines. Should still read the same as long as you don't mix n match.
Maybe Im wrong but isnt a 2.3 crank 15 degrees? A 2.4 a 0 degreee? Is the ecm going to adjust itself for that? Thanks.
The notch is like that on the crank but the hole in the block is placed accordingly based on the notches in the crank. Which is the reason you have trouble with a 2.4 crank in a 2.3 block. However as far as swapping a whole 2.4 engine to a 2.3 engine the sensor will will work properly because it is only meant to read 1 revolution at a time and will do so perfectly as long as the mark on the crank is referenced correctly with the mounting point on the block.

Hes not talking stroker, just putting a 2.4 in a GTZ
wow, i think Zs is the only one that gets it lol
hes gonna be fine..he has a 2.4 crank in a 2.4 block..itll be FINE...the harness will still plug in and run all the same.
now of course hell have to do some tuning to the gtz pcm to accommodate for his mods...but the CPS is not going to be an issue. no change needed. period
