Was doing research for my soon to be Camaro build, wandered onto EFILive's site and I was looking through their supported vehicle list. And saw this,
Tuning supported for all 97-05 Cavalier and Sunfires.
I figured it would be pretty close to HPTuners as far as lack of options, tune-ability, and such, but figured I'd ask here if anyone had used their stuff.... sorry if this has already been asked, at work and doing some quick posting, didn't have time to search.
But efi live costs like 800 bucks while hp tuners only costs 500, and they do essentially the same thing.

This is old news..... Same tables also, so its NOT a better alternative. Their scanner sucks compared to HPT's also....
P&P Tuning
420.5whp / 359.8wtq
Alright thanks guys, just checking, figured it was the same only more expensive. *goes back to observing silently*

actually HPT is around $600. (for pro, the only one anyone should really buy)
but if EFI LIVE has the same stuff as HPT, well then.. hpt owns due to the price.
i wonder if EFI just basically copied what hpt did?

I have no problem not owning the pro interface, hell I wiring the wideband to the a/c pressure line takes the same amount of effort as wiring it to the pro interface should. So what if I have to get out and open the hood to switch between logging and being able to use the ac/defroster.

wtf ac pressure line??? ur speaking in tongues

Theres a 0-5 volt signal line from the a/c condenser that is from a pressure sensor in the high pressure a/c line. I use a 0-5v output from my wideband (programmed on the innovate) to go to that signal line and disconnect the a/c pressure sensor from it. Then I log a/c pressure in hp tuners and use a user created PID to convert the voltage from that line into air to fuel ratio, and then I use that PID to make a new afr error pid, theres a few really good walk through for it on hp tuners forum. My switch that switches between my car seeing wideband or a/c pressure is right against the fire wall in the middle, you can see it in this picture to the left of the brake booster.

So he can log wideband without the Pro interface I believe.

Riddle me this... I have a 1999 2200 cavalier hornet car I race on dirt. I have access to EFI live. Would it gain me much power or should I go with a chip?

there is no "chip" for your car.

I have a friend here who has efi live. he says you can do a runtime tune. i dont know if hes just blowing smoke or if he actually knows what he's talking about but I'm going to talk to him and see if I can take a look at it some time.
@Rich if there is not a chip for the car what should I use if EFI Live is not worth it? I have a cold air intake, performance plugs & wires, etc. I'd like to get at least 20 more horse if that's possible. Any ideas?

you'll never see that from a tune on a 2200 with just bolt ons.

I question I haven't seen asked is does EFI live cost you credits for each car? If not, could explain the higher price.

does anyone use it currently and have a written tune for them??
i like it because it works incredible for the trucks and is verry versitile on the dyno
