3 bar map question
Thursday, October 15, 2009 6:07 PM
ok I am trying to make sure I can properly convert this.

I have read ron's formula and want to verfy that I am understanding it.

Can this tune 3 bar for turbo and s/c applications?
There is no inheriant support planned for 3 bar OS's for any J-Body application. You can fake a 3 bar tune however, just as explained above, only the values would be increased by .3 for each axis for those with the 2 bar tune (100kpa would now be 133 kpa), or times 3 for those who are using a 1 bar tune (100kpa would be 300kpa).

I am running a 1 bar so to convert to a 3 bar I attach the gm 3bar map sensor and then go into the VE-Idle and multiple all the values by 3

then all the values in VE-low rpm coastdown and multiple all those tables by 3

what about the "Injector pulsewidth multiplier vs. VAC" do I need to edit that table? if so how?

and I am sorry if these seem like dumb questions but I am sure others want to know this

thanks guys

Not worth it. The only thing you are going to achieve is the ability to control timing up to 3bar, but you will lose resolution on everything else. Your driveability will suffer, and then you will realize its not worth it. Also, your registry says you have a SAFC.... Hope you realize its not doing anything but changing your timing..... Take it off...

Not worth it. If you need to run that much boost, go standalone. It's a hassle to use faked 2 and 3 bar setups.

ya I haven't updated in a long time on my profile.

ok I am running 15 psi. the issue I have is that it sometimes throws a map performance code and the car feels like it goes into limp mode when this happens. I will be acclerating and usually happens when I hit 15 psi or spikes a little higher. then the car just falls on it's face. but if I shift to next gear all the power is back again. pressure tested piping no boost leaks, good afr 10.5-11 all the way up. it just seems like I get out side the realms of my 1 bar map and the computer freaks out.

Disable that DTC and select the option for it to not to report to the computer..... 90% of the time this will solve it.....
