I had an issue with driver installs on my XP laptop when I downgraded from Vista. When I had Vista, I didn;t have any issues.... This link helped me out, I hope it helps you out....

My bad but i wanted to test it before i gave any insight
Re booted my Laptop and pressed F8 during the boot
Disabled the Digital Certificate option
Installed the Drivers recommended by HPT
Works fine
I cannot seem to get it to work with 64bit vista?

You have to hit F8 after starting up your machine to get to the startup screen
Disable Digital Driver signing
Follow the directions on the HPT forum for the right drivers and such i followed the thread from Bill
Everytime you wanna use HPT you have to do the F8 thing while booting or your Laptop wont reconize the MPVI, i found this out tonight
every freaking time? or just for installation, because if its everytime thats not acceptable

Everytime you wanna use HPT you will have to use the F8 method
I wrote a post on the HPT forum about this and how its retarded that they arent offereing an update to have a perfect working editon of the program for Vista 64
i have vista and have not had any problems, i just installed it and let vista do its thing. if it asks where to find drivers just specific the CD.
or if you have it installed already, just uninstall the drivers and reinstall them

Then you are probably running an older laptop or Vista and are 32 bit
The problem is coming in with 64 bit versions
newer laptop, vista ultimate, but ya, i got the 32bit version on my laptop since im already running 64bit xp pro.
they need to make 64 bit drivers, not sure if they do. good luck man
