Myself and Newt dove into some Fuel tuning lastnight
The car setup is the 5 spd in my profile
Now have a few questions
We were using Shifteds VE tuning
Trying to command 13.0
Set the PE AFR at 80 Celcuis to 13.0 and 124 Celcius to 13.0
Did about 30 mins or so of logging at different speeds and TPS percentages etc
Came back and processed the Logs and smoothed them
Car ran amazing in the Lower RPM ranges with very little Error Percentage
At WOT we were getting about 3-6 on the KR
Car felt strong though
I have the logs if someone would be willing to take a look i can email them if someone could PM their email
We arent sure where to go from here to solve this knock issue, we tried commanding 12.7 with same results
We were running 91 octane, i can try some NOS octane boost if need be
Also
My Fuel at Idle is in the high 10s low 11s, is there a way to Lean out the Idle fueling?
Any other suggestions?
I found N/a 12.7 was the better AFR, but the LD9 gets a lot of ghost knock even in stock form. I have not found one yet that did not get 3-6 degree's of knock.

Ya truely figure 12.7 would be a better spot to shoot for?

I found on my LD9 n/a that 12.7 gave me less knock retard than 13.0 and 13.2.

Currently mine is
Im going to use your suggestion John and reset it for 12.7
Is there somewhere else i am missing that i have to adjust the AFR?
Anyother tips?
I was also wondering about setting the Spark tables for always running High Test fuel?
Can i just copy the High Octane and High PE into the Low Octane and Low PE tables?
How are guys adjusting for KR ? Can i lower the Max KR tables safely?
Thanks
You can copy your HO PE tables into your LO PE tables, but I would not. As for adjusting for knock. Well you have to varify it is real knock and not ghost knock. After lots of datalogging I found even removing 10 degree's of timing did not change it, so I knew it was not real knock. You can adjust the max KR tables, but you need to make sure your tune is dead on, and I do not recommend it for a street car.

OK thanks John
I am going to go out Sunday and get some more good Data at 12.5-12.7 which do you recommend?
Any other good suggestions of areas to hit?
Thanks for the help
You didnt adjust for High Octane at all?

How much timing were you commanding at the time John? The last LD9 I dealt with had the same amount of KR (about 5.5 deg in the 4000-4400 range), but pulling 3 deg of timing completely got rid of it.....car just wouldn't pull over 22 deg. through that range.
I too found that particular car liked around 12.7 air/fuel ratio.

High Octane is not for high Octane fuel. It is the first spark table the ECU takes from, but when it see's knock it switches down to the Low Octane table, or blends between the two.

Ah got ya
Well i shall dial in 12.7 today and get some more loggin done
