Thanx.. im sure timing will be an issue as will the PE. I have the injector constant worked out, I just wanna make sure this all comes together well enough.

Thanx for pointing out the obvious. But unless you answer the question, you're just taking up space.

I did answer the question..... As you said, I pointed out the obvious... If you don't know what you should be changing (and why you are changing it), you should not be messing with it.. Its that simple..

I live 50 miles from anything. I'll be doing the tuning on this myself...until i can drive the car to a proper tuner. In order to make the car go, i need just enough to make it not blow up.. so in other words.. i need answers that actually will help.

Well you should get ahold of ImPhat0260/Cavattack2000 and maybe he can help you over the phone on a tune or something like that to make sure you get it to a shop safely. Instead your being kind of rude to someone that could possibly provide you with tons of information, when asked for correctly. Word on the street is he knows his stuff, so.............maybe you should ask him if he could help you out personally on a one on one basis?

I'm not trying to be rude to anyone.. I'm the only person within 100+ miles that even owns HP Tuners... I'm the only person probably in this state with $6000 worth of work in a cavalier motor. and i'm looking for help. This is my first time working on something with OBDII. I just don't want to make a mistake that may destroy the motor. ImPhat0260/Cavattack2000 if i seemed rude to you i'm sorry dude, but im just lookin' for some help before the end of this week when this thing is finally in and i need to make it run ASAP.

If you change "just" the injector constant and it starts, idles and runs, it should get you to a shop for a dyno tune. Its not like its boosted and you risk hitting 20PSI or something without fuel. Other than that, just don't beat on it until it is fully tuned if you're worried about ruining your new build. I suppose you could set the rev limiter to about 3000rpm, that you could almost guarentee your safe arrival at the dyno shop

3 grand has nothing to do with how long it will take.

As was already said if all you change is the injector constant and don't beat on it which why would you the engine still needs broke in you will be fine.

Thanks Wade... I did a search and I did find a post that should the high compression pistons won't be recognized... http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=64&i=10353&t=10349#10353 So hopefully after setting the injector constant, and having the VE and PE smoothed out (no dips and spikes) That should give me a good base until i can find somebody around here (this area) that actually knows how to tune.

2000 z24 cavy...4t40e automatic...engine is 2.4 but i've listed everything that's been done to it above... the big concern to me is bigger injectors, bigger t.b, port and polished head, over sized valves.. i'll be using more fuel and more air for sure. I realize nobody can just guess and tune one from the bench without seeing wideband o2, and how every car is different. but i just want to make sure this motor doesn't have issues when it goes from Garage to Home.

bigger TB doesnt really do anything in terms of normal driving, closed loop providing the tune is somewhat decent should keep you ok for easy easy driving, your idle may be a bit rough as well as cold starts
