I know there was some interest if HPT tuners or GM reflash was that much of a difference.
two pulls were done with both computers that is the only change to the car between pulls
This was done on a dyno jet
GM Flash made peak 230 tq and 235whp
HPT made peak 257 tq and 260 whp
The HPT produced on average 20 more of tq and whp through the entire rpm range
Which did you make on your first run, the GM tune or HPT?

However the GM program meets emissions requirements whereas the HPT doesnt. Also teh GM program was designed to provide for safe operation of the engine when used as intended. Just thought I would point that out.
Did it first on the GM relash then the HPT
GM flash begins to lean out right before the speed limiter. it is not made for the 3" pulley.

Proof the HPT tune does not meet emissions standards are where?

Some of us dont care about emissions.
This is good to know, cuz im going to be running the reflash then swaping computers and using HPT.

Tune a car for power with no concern for emissions and then test it. Im fairly certain it will fail. Although im sure that with your infinate wisdom you could tune a car for max power and meet every emission standard without any hickups.
Personally I dont care about emissions as my state does not test, but some do.
Also as I stated the GM program is ideal for the engine configuration it is built for, not for a smaller pulley. However the 2.4 program had no problem maintaining a safe AFR with my 2.4" pulley I had (yes I know you are talking about the Eco here).
^I'm with clyde on this one. If you optimize for performance you are guaranteed to fail any test.

Keep the GM flash computer then for passing inspection it is two bolts and two connectors quick and easy!

You can't guarante This. I'm not saying I could tune for performance and make it pass emission's, but I never claimed to. Without testing you can't say. I also do not care about it, and most that are doping performance mods do not care either.

It does not have a C.A.R.B EO order\Number with it.
But I will say this..... Because of HPT, my 02 Z-24 passed Emissions with flying colors....
LOL

screw the environment.
and chis.. the only thing 'green' about your 02 was the decal placed on it
I believe I can see the future... as I repeat the same routine....
Good to know. Looks like i'll be getting another computer and having it hp'd. As for emissions. As long as you have a good tune and cats no reason you shouldnt pass. Plenty of people running around denver with lots of power who pass emissions all the time.

HEY, its fracking cold out.
I was doing everything i could to HELP GLOBAL WARMING
but i failed i guess.
hmmmm guess the GTO can give it a shot next.

You should sell your tune to others, maybe a good way to recoupe some of your costs in doing all of this testing.
Nice improvement though, congrats!

^ Where's the fun in that?
That's a 3" pulley?
What size injectors?
3" pulley
310cc injectors I will be upgrading them later though
yea, that sounds about right for a 3 " with hpt on a dynojet. I mean I could see you milking it a bit more though.
what afr/ timing are you running? How much boost are you running on?
afr in boost is 11 to 10 timing I am not sure I would have to ask the guy that actually did it and it makes about 12psi
Very Nice. Certainly worth the price of admission.
I need to get HPT now...or find somebody with it and buy a couple of credits

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.
I got HPT so my car WOULD pass emissions.....huh
go figure
HPT keeps me OBD II compliant
Did you tune it to reduce emissions or did you just disable things? If you tune for power you will be affecting your emissions output of different emissions.

This would really depend on the set-up. My car for example. It is a N/A car. I would put money that the emissions is better with the tune then before it. It runs much closer to 14:7:1 is regualr driving and in WOT than before a tune. Of course I have no test to prove this nor will I.

mine runs the same AF ratio except while producing boost, where with the GM reflash the car ran rich all the time but would start to lean out in WOT and eventually through an emissions code.
