I found someone who can possibly reprogram the chip in my 93 cavalier. He asked me to get the numbers for him off the blue mem-cal chip in the computer.....

Except for one problem. I opened up the computer and there is no blue-covered chip. The picutre he sent had a blue plastic cover-type thing over at least one chip, with a whole through the blue part so you could read the code on the chip underneath. When I opened up my computer, there weren't no such creature--definitely nothing blue plastic in the area shown in the picture I saw.

Anyone have any idea what might be going on or a different way the mem-cal chip might look in mine?

Nevermind, I found out that the chip in my car's computer doesn't have any software available to reprogram it.

More than likely you have an ecm with flash memory. So far no one has released aftermaket tools to reprogram this ecm.
