I installed the Emanage last night but the car won't start. When I put the key in the ignition everything works like normal but when I try to start the car i hear a click noise and all the power goes away. I can't figure out what i did wrong all the wires are soldered together. i did have to extend the wire about 2 feet, I also folled the wiring diragram that was on Jason's webpage. I thing it may be a jumper setting problem, I left the unit like it came but I noticed on Jason's webpage it said Ignition input pull down and Ignition output 5V. Any help would be appreciated.
your ignition wires are backwards with the in and out its opposite of what you think it would be i ran in to the exact same problem
OrangeZ, I switched the wires around and it's still doing the same thing.
Cold Fusion, I have tested the battery and it is not dead.
Also, after I try to start the car it takes a couple of min for the power to come back
put the ign wires back to normal and see if the car starts, if not then your problem may lie somewhere else
let us know how you make out
I have tried reconnecting the ignition wires and nothing, i'm going to put everything back to stock to make sure I didn't fry my PCM.
On this
page when it says ignition input pull down and output voltage 5Volts what does this mean. Could this be my problem.
Definitely the problem. Here:
Jumper settings inside the E-manage:
JP1 Ignition input pullup/pulldown select
1-2 A resistor is pulled down to ground
2-3 A resistor is pulled up the +ve rail
* Use 1-2 when the ECU's driver transistor is
connected to ground
* Use 2-3 when the ECU's driver transistor is
connected to +ve (5V or 12V will determine JP2's
setting)
Supposedly you can see the input voltage in the Main Unit Setting
Information window. If it's 0v, use 1-2. If it's 5v or more, use 2-3.
JP2 Ignition output select
1-2 Output resistor connected to +5V
2-3 Output resistor connected to +12V
* This will depend on the ECU ignitor signals output
* JP2 enables the e-manage to duplicate the amplitude
of the original signal
JP3 airflow/VTEC output select
1-2 2nd airflow meter
2-3 VTEC
* Even if you don't have a 2nd airflow meter, leave it on 1-2 for non-
VTEC applications
JP4 airflow/VTEC input select
1-2 VTEC
2-3 2nd airflow meter
* Even if you don't have a 2nd airflow meter, leave it on 2-3 for non-
VTEC applications
* On 1-2, enables pulldown resistor (for use as VTM signal). This is
required because the VTM output is inverted with the VTEC out.
JP5/JP6 Sub injector drivers
Jumper off - Disabled
1-2 - Enabled
* Only enable if you're going to control extra injectors with the E-
manage
JP7 VTEC
1-2 Non-VTEC
Jumper off - VTEC
* On 1-2, enables pullup resistor (for use as MAF output)

Well, I'm pretty sure I just shorted out my PCM. When I put the key in the ignition I get the chime but when I turn the key to the on position the lights dim and when I try to start nothing . I thought I had drained my battery somehow and tried to get a jump but the same thing happens. Guess I should find a new PCM and start over.
I think that before you conclude that, you check EVERYTHING over.

For JP1 and JP2 aren't these the factory settings
I've checked the wiring and swapped ina new battery and the same thing keeps happening. I don't know what could be causing this, if you guys have any ideas I'm willing to try anything right now.
well I found out that the car was in theft mode. Did anyone have this problem installing their emanage?
