Automatic Trans Tables for 2.4
Saturday, August 09, 2008 12:45 AM
I hope someone can help me with this. I recently had my car tuned N/A and we messed with the tables of the Automatic transmission and basically copied the tables from someones Eco tune for the automatic. The problem is that for some reason the car is bouncing off the rev limiter and seems to rev much higher than the LD9 makes usable power, and the turbo goes on next friday and while im back in HPT I was wondering if anyone had a decent tune for the trans table on an LD9 that I could use for my transmission. Thanks in advance if someone has a good answer for this.

Since its not my HPT and I dont do the tuning, Im not sure if its possible for me to get the values from somone and it work when I plug them into my tune or if every car is gonna respond differently to shifting mods, but if anyone has an answer id love to hear it.

Put the stock tables back in and play from there. Every car is different when coming to engine tuning, and more so with tranny tuning. I would never use a Eco tranny tune on a 2.4.

It's the same trans in both cars. So where's the problem?

Different motors, power levels. Every motor is different, every car is different, so no 2 tunes will be the same.

Which means shift points will be different, but general shift properties will remain the same.

Not even. TO prove this GM changed shift properties in the auto Gm reflash for the 2.4. Why I wonder? Maybe because of more power, different set-up. hmmmm.

Do all stock cars have different tunes then? Yes this is a retorical question. Do you have both a stock eco auto and ld9 auto tune? If so, do a compare on them the differences from one to the other are minor in some cases, but where they are significant is where the changes are unique to the motor.

I have compared files, and have also compared a auto LD9 and a auto 2200/2.2 files, very different.

It has been said and more or less proven that there are some tables you do not have access to in the engine side of the tune but are most likly in there. Do you think some of the problem with tuning autos may be tables you can't see?

It could be. I can say I have only played a little bit with auto tranny settings, but have not had any issues at all in doing so. I also copied the files from the GM auto reflash (well almost all of them). A difference has been noticed, but no bad side affects.

I think the buiggest issue is people go in and change a couple things, but leave others alone. I think the tranny would have to mess with it all.

Tuning my auto to shift properly has been my biggest gripe

I still get hung up going into 3rd and it screws me everytime
