Tuning Question - Hesitation

Hey does any of the odb1 guys know what causes an initial hesitation when you go from idle to stomping on the gas in an LN2?

Im pretty sure i've got my tune dead on, running 14.7:1 in normal cruise, 12.4:1 on acceleration, and timing curves adjusted. Car runs like a raped ape under load, but from a stop when you stomp on it, theres initial hesitation, almost like there could be too much air or too much fuel?

hesitation issues are most likely due to Accell Enrich issues. Other than that a small, small amount can be timing changes.

Your wideband datalogging should be able to tell you if its a rich or lean condition at that moment.

my LG0 with your $36 bin only does it at very light load low RPM, just "bucks" and acts like it has a bad TPS, its not really bad. i see nothing that stands out on the wide band..... ONE thing that is weird though, after driving, ill come to a stop, and it will go lean for a minute or two, like 16.5-19.0 and then back to normal... other then that its great.

are you getting any KR when you go to WOT?

I was getting a little KR, but i upped the base pulse width to 137 ms from 133 ms and that cleared up the KR issue. It wasn't getting enough fuel.

The hesitation im noticing is when your at idle or cruise, and you slam it, it kinda hesitates which leads me to believe that Accel Enrich is not hitting quick enough. I found the params to adjust for delay, and set the delay to 0 and that helped.

I'm looking into injector options at the moment.

Question? Why can't we use the 2.2ohv 98 manifold on our engines, the heads are identical.

My Stock ECU does the exact same thing! I do have slightly larger injectors in, but I turned down the fuel pressure to compensate for that(from stock 17lbs/hr to 19lbs/hr) I always thought that was weird. Sometimes it goes all the way to like 18-19 a/f ratio, and comes back in about 30 seconds to a minutes of sitting there.

Makes me wonder if perhaps the pcm is detecting a rich condition so it tries to lean out, then detects a knock condition so it dumps.

Im noticing BLM's ranging between 110 - 150 but nothing steady, at idle it settles down to 128
