What all would it require me to change to tune with hpt in my 95 Z24. Would i b able to just change to a 97 harness and ecu or is it more involved then that?
your 95 should be a 2.3 96 and up harness are all 2.4's so with that said i would be willing to bet that it is more than a pcm swap and harness.
its more.
OBDI has more tuning options than HPT could offer.. I'd look into a chip burner program, or talk to the guys in team GREEN.
Team Green?? that would b really good if i could stick with obd 1 because then i could use watever cams i wanted. im still tryin to figure out wat im gonna do tho...i wanna do some minor things to the 2.4 head and then use H.O. cams but idk...im so lost when it comes to tuning...
First will need
This
Second you will need
This
Third
This
Trust me, its worth it.
should be it
OBD-I gives you a lot more to tune for then HPT, and you have some tuning definition to 7200...
Its what is controlling my W41 in my 95 and what the drag car did have.... it only we had a real chip burner back then..... oh well.

O alright thanks im not sure what that means right now but im sure when i get it ill c what ur talking about
Will this also work on a 95 2.2?? My car ***I THINK*** is OBD 1, but the port is an OBD2 port. no OBD2 reader can read my car's computer or codes (autoZone or advance auto parts).
I would love to be able to use the stock computer. I'm just about to get megasquirt, but in my mind it's always better to keep a stock ECU, and be able to fully control all the settings.
Pull your ECM out and crack it open, if you see this
It is OBD-1.
but being a 95 and 5 speed, you should be good.

Very informative Taetsch Z-24, Thank you.
One last question, If I change the Map sensor on the car to say a 2.5 Bar sensor, is there a way to change the axis on the calibration that is burned? Like, instead of 100 kPa (0 vacuume) being the max, it'll go up to a full 2.5 bar ?
Reason I ask is I plan to run a turbo setup up to 21 psi, and want to make sure I can tune it correctly, without any map/voltage tricks, like people have to do with the HPTuners.
