New Product from DynoJet - could be interesting
Monday, July 07, 2008 2:38 PM
So I have a motorcycle and dynojet makes a power commander for motorcycles. I was interested in knowing what type of maps the bike uses; so I called them. As it turns out it is Alpha-n... So I say that stinks I was looking to turbo the bike and now I can't. He then said that they have this special hub that you can add to the power commander that allows you to add in a GM 2-bar map that can read boost. At that point you can tune with the power commander at MAP X RPM. So I ask if this is something that I could use on my car and he said with some modification it could. Then he told me abou this new project they are working on. See the websie. dynojetcmd.com

Check it out. Eventually it will be out for the Cobalt SS.

This is what he was talking about. The Multi-Function Hub. It could work to our advantage. The power commander is a piggy back. Clicky the link: Multi-Function Hub

It would be a similar concept as using the hahn port fueler except you wouldn' be spending 2 grand. Just around $550. It would just piggyback your injectors. We may have to purchase the MSD Cam Sync generator though.

I a kinda waiting for folks that know more about this than me to let me know that it wouldn't work and why exactly it wouldn't

Can Megasquirt be wired in as a piggy back or does it replace the ECU completely. I always though that you had to wire it all in. like the crank position sensor, TPS, Injectors, all of it.

it will run the motor, however... it does NOT run the OBD-II systems in the car. so it's more of a piggy-back if you're trying to stay emissions compliant.

I found another Piggy back out there. It is called MAP-ECU. It is for taking MAF cars and converting them to Speed density. I sent them an email. Their product also looks interesting. It is priced around $650 though. Going with Hahn's Port fueler is looking better and better since you also get great top end gains with the log intake manifold.

I sure hope Shifted can get his ECU together. That would be great. As well it would be the best option for us L61 guys.

the Megasquirt will do whatever you want it to do. It doesn't need full control of the motor, it can do just fuel if you want it to. Give it a MAP and O2 sensor and it will do all the rest basically (obvioulsy over-simplified but its really cheap and easy compared to other methods)
