How big of injectors
Thursday, June 26, 2008 11:27 AM
I called hahn racecraft to see if i could get some bigger injectors because of the amount of boost i am running. They said they do not have any bigger ones. What are people using for 15 - 20 psi? Where do i get them from. And what is my injector independence. I have the hahn stage 2 kit and i just want bigger injectors. WIll someone help me out quick so i can get these things ordered.

all ecos are high impedance. Some of the older ones had low impedance mixed in, but 03+ is definitely all high impedance.

The size of the injector is NOT based on how much PSI you run, but on the horsepower you are putting down.

I would recomend going to RC engineering, not only do they have some of the best injectors out there, they also have tools lie a sizing calculator for you to determine what size is best for you.

dont forget, you are going to need to tune that...i dont know what hahn gives you for tuning...

They give you a FMU with their kit.

Agreed with John.

I'm running 1000cc low-impedance RCEngineering injectors.

I know i wasen't supposed to but money doesn't grow on trees. Got them ordered and they will be here tuesday. I can figure it out but im on my couch and dont feel like doing it but anyone have the constant for 650cc.

A good friend of mine who had the very first Ecotec Turbo car (not built by GM) ran 17-20psi on stock motor and stock injectors. Ran a perfect AFR's. Pulled 113mph in the 1/4

you guys should read, no he isn't on stock injectors. He is on the ones included with the hahn kit but he wants bigger injectors since he isnt running their 8 -12 psi, rather 15- 20.

yea and how long did that last? lol. I could only imagine his idc. I maxxed the 34lbers out on the dyno with only 8 psi from a blower.

unless he had an afpr and a massive intank and external fuel pump. lol

It ran for a long time that way. We pulled the motor out of the car to build it up (it was still runing and nothing wrong with it). It was a fMU set-up. We do not know what the IDC was. This was before HPT. It was a stock FPR, stock fuel pump. The trick was he was using a nitrous kit (just the nitrous side) to get his extra fuel (I know, I know). It worked, and ran like a beast.

I would not recommend this to anyone to do.

Using the nitrous kit as an EIC basically?

Not a brutal idea but not the greatest way to fuel the engine! lol

I know what I first said is mis-leading. For that time it worked and worked good because he dyno tuned it.
