I was planning on getting the HO manifold but was warned that it will throw off my afr. To solve this problem I'd need to tune. If i understand correctly, getting say the aem uego wide band and then teaming it with hp tuners I can then tune for a 13.0:1 ratio.
I just wanted to make sure I understand this correctly. Do I still need the wideband gauge to tune or does hp tuners have it integrated into there application? Also, do I need to professional version of hp tuners to tune the afr or will the standard edition work fine?
This would be a piece by piece project. I'd buy each part every other week and then have it all tuned and running afterwards. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my #1 on the list of things to do !

You need HPT Pro and a Wideband, its definitely not worth it if all you want to do is re-tune after minor bolt-ons. Also the HO manifold is for the 2.4 LD9, according to your profile you have a 2.2 Eco.

Yes get HPT Pro, that way you can hook your wideband up to HPT and have all your info on one screen. Makes tuning fuel sooo much easier. Well worth the extra cash for Pro.

Actually after a few air mods like the HO manifold it'd be well worth the retune? I got this info from skwirl..

What do you recommend raising it to? I don't rev often, but when I do I hate hearing the back fire from the rev limiter.

6800 should be good, if your going off of logic and not just trying to be cool. well even 6800 isn't logical lol but will allow you for some more "fun" I guess which is why most people on this org do raise it.

Im gonna reopen this thread so I can get some help with this.
I haven't purchased HP Tuners but plan to here shortly.. within a month.. but I would like some info on tuning first. I'm new to tuning so I would like to build a good foundation of knowledge on what to do.. what to change.. and what NOT to touch.
I planned to up the rev.. tune for a good aft.. and up the firmness of the transmission. What else should I be planning to tune with an okay N/A build?
All my current mods are in my sig.. and I'd be planning to have the 2.4 manifold swapped into the ecotec before I'd venture into tuning.
Anyone know of any good readings to help me build a good foundation or any helpful to do's that you're willing to share?

and this would also be AFTER I have my 2.25 exhaust set up. I have the cat coverter and I have a 2.25 resonator on its way and i'm going to have an exhaust shop fab up the exhaust tubing; I'll have a 4-1 header into 2.25 intermediate piping that will open up to 2.375(so I can keep the current catback tubing)

get your Hptuners first then see what you are running stock, then go ahead and start adding your bolt ons..then build from there..
as always save your stock tune, so you can easily reflash when your effed..

Here's the thing when I hear someone say I want to tune my car I do not think they mean just the AFR's, but everything. Fuel, timing, fans, limiters etc... The only think you have not mentioned to tune was timing. For sure need to see if you have any KR and start from there. With a proper fuel and timing tune you should gain some power. Then a good tranny tuning and have a better running tranny. Do lots of readings on here and HPT forums. Get HPT and do lots of looking (at your stock tune, others tunes). I learned a whole lot just by looking at HPT, comparing other tunes, even reading the HPT help guide.
