I'm looking for software that can remap my ECU. I already have spare flash chips and a programmer, and if I can find some software to use (or a stash of roms for stock motors), I'll get a spare ECU to victimize, in case things go terribly wrong somewhere along the line. I have the 2.2L OBD I motor. And before anyone says anything, the motor needs to be stock for the class I'm racing in, ECU modification is the only performance upgrade I can do that I haven't already done. Thanks!
Wow, a Cavlilier, I must be tired (been working on the car, literally, since I woke up this morning, with a 15 minute breakfast/lunch/dinner break, and it's now 1:30am local time). And there's no edit option on this forum? Odd... Anyways, I probably should have mentioned that I've spent several hours searching, both with Google and here. I found the posts in the FAQ about ODBII mods being a no-go, and I've also found some info here on a few various projects, but nothing that seems to be ready for general consumption. I did eventually find HPTuners, but it costs almost as much as we paid for the car, and now I see (after I wrote the next couple lines) it doesn't even support my car. This is a 1/3rd mile oval car, and on this track cars don't tend to last very long - most of the cars out there are like this one, getting one last hurrah before heading to the crusher, since the bodies are rusted so bad they'd never pass a state inspection, and accidents are extremely common.
Back to the topic, I also know about Megasquirt, I just don't have the time to put one together and get it all tuned before the first race (June 4th), and the above applies as well, I'd hate to see one good crash take out that little box I spent so much time on. Heck, I don't think they're allowed anyways. Thanks for any info you can provide, and I apologize if whatever I've just written makes no sense, I've been up for far too many hours and will still be up for a couple more.
We need the Broadcast Code from the chip.
It is 4 letters, i.e. ABCD.

From the chip? Is it supposed to be stamped on the chip, read with some software, or some specific hex bytes? I didn't see anything written on the chip, I'm assuming the PLCC32 chip is the flash chip. Or do you mean the 4 letters after the Service number? The old one is BCXT, I can't remember what the new one says. Sorry for the long delays between replies, the garage where the car is is a few miles away, and there's no internet connection there.
If you can email me a copy of your memcal i can take a look.
