Hello again .org people ... im having another problem now ... i finally install my SAFC .. it works just fine .. thanks for the help .. but right now in trying to run 450cc injectors on my 96 z24 ... but i cant get them to work .. means , cant get them to reduce the amount of fuel since im still N/A shouldnt i be able to adjust them with my SAFC ... ?
Is it the ecu the one not letting me adjust them .. because ive heard that you guys change your ecu's for the 97 Z ..
Im planning on boosting it soon but im still missing the fuel pump .. shall i wait till i get everything set or i should have no problems adjusting them with out turbo still.
Thanks
lower your fuel pressure to get them to idle right.
you can't tweak the 96 ecu, it's an oddball year for electronics so there is no real support for that ecu.
Swap up to a 97 ecu, and then you'd be able to tweak w/ HPTuners.
The SAFC works, to a point. You won't have a clean running car with it. It's a bandaid at best that's temporary.
-Trailblazer SS - not so custom 6.0L - custom intake - custom tune
- (1) 2.4L on an engine stand (1) blown trans (2) good quad trans (1) eco trans = party
i got an A-FPR not install , so... SpyhunteR installing the A-FPR will let me set the idling at the point that i could use them .... ?
thanks ..
well are you SURE that computer has a speed density tune??
I would agree you will be better off tuning it whit HPT after a 97 re-pin, if you are not able to adjust those injectors with the SAFC, then I am really thinking your car has the alpha n tune, not SD.
Or you still have something hooked up wrong.
Either way, you can get the a-fpr, and try to turn down the pressure, but dont go to low, or it will affect atomization. If that doesnt work, you really need to re-pin and go 97, and tune with HPT, or at least flash it with the speed density file, so you CAN use the SAFC.
ill try first with the a-fpr ..
now... question... ive heard that they are 97 ecus with 2 plug connectors .. my 96 ecu has 3 plugs .. could i get a 97 ecu with 3 plugs ? or what would be the best choice ..
thanks
your ECU is an oddball... you won't find a newer ecu that will plug in nicely.. you either are going to have to do rewiring, or take the whole engine harness and ecu from a 97 car.

You could always step down to a 95 ecu, repin the harness and use tuner pro + any wideband hardware you have to tune.
