Just want some opinions on what will ultimately become my tuning package:
Innovate Motorsports DB Gauge + LC1 (I'm paranoid, I want to know at the very moment if I go lean and starting the process of self-destructing my engine.) If I understand correctly, I can use the same LC1 to plug into HP Tuners Pro?
HP Tuners Pro (If that custom one doesn't come out)
Gauges:
Oil pressure
Fuel Pressure
Voltmeter
Coolant temp
Manifold Pressure
(Boost/Vac monitoring whenever I boost my dam Eco
)
Am I missing anything?

all im running is a wideband, oil pressure, egt, and boost. thats it. as for coolant, i have that on my cluster.
coolant temp you probably dont need.. maybe a pyrometer would be a better choice as far as tuning goes.
fuel pres probably isnt needed, you can put one on the rail if you want. just cause the electronic ones are $$$
14.82 @ 97 mph
Fuel pressure is very important if you are running an FMU. I would say thats just as important as a wide band to have in-car.

Definitely keeping the fuel pressure, although I'm questioning the need for the EGT gauge...

the egt gauge can give little hints the wideband might miss. if it gets HOT you can see it by seeing the temps go up on the egt.
aaand... getting HOT hot = leaning fuel out, right?

I'm leaning torwards Glow Shift gauges... Autometer gauges seem expensive... Although I am a little leery due to the 'you get what you pay for' adage.

<DOUBLE-TAP>
Couldn't swallow the double-to-triple cost of the Autometer series, so I'm gonna be going with:
1x EGT (Thanks guys!)
1x Fuel Pressure
1x Oil Pressure
I'll skip on boost for now, and I'll pass on the other gauges I was considering. I'm afraid if I get too many gauges, I'll clutter up my dash. It should be tuned with HPTuners, so really, these are just to let me know if shyte hits the proverbial fan.
I'm pretty satisfied with the 12 month warranty Glow Shift offers. I won't be boosting by then (hence why I'm leaving that particular one out until I do), but I'll have the exhaust done at least, maybe a header.
<EDIT>
How did you folks mount your oil pressure gauge on an Eco? Seeing as how a sandwich adapter won't exactly work...

well you were right on one thing, you get what you pay for, i spent a lot of money on my gauges from auto meter but i know they will work how they should and if im going to look at them every day then they may as well be what i want. good luck with them

With the exception of my autometer rail mounted fuel pressure gauge, all of my gauges are glow shift gauges. They seem to be doing the job just fine for me. Boost and Volt gauges match my MS-II readings, and the oil pressure matches to what many others have seen. I will be getting at least 1 of their EGT gauges in the future as well.

Yes, but not always. It's also a good indicator of knock and too much spark retard.

I'll give them a shot. I should be covered by warranty for a little bit at least.

you seem to be very concerned with the tuning/abiity to tune... yet your gonna cheap out on the stuff used to do it? good thinking, makes perfect sence.

Well, I'm not afraid to replace if required. I'm also not afraid to go back to the drawing board. Add to the fact I've put in a tab for a $1200 engine/tranny/harness swap, it will suffice, at least until I decide to boost.

Let's get real for a second. These aren't complex circuits/sendor units we are dealing with here like a wideband. The only questionabl gauge would be the EGT as I don't know what kind of materials they use for the sendor unit, but has anyone here actually ever heard of Glow Shift gauges reading inacurrate measurements on any of their gauges? Through my own experiences and countless forums I've visited over the past several years...I certainly haven't.
If someone bragged to you that they bought an AEM intake, telling you it gives them more power than your "eBay SPECIAL", you would laugh at them, and try to explain that it's the same damn thing...Similar rule applies here.

whole different situation, i dont know about you but im not monitoring my car by using an intake, i know with my autometer's they perform a self diagnostic check every time, they are also electric full sweep. they are not cheap but autometer has an excellent warranty and great customer service. i dont know about glow shift or how long they have been around but autometer has put a lot of time and effort into their gauges for sure. i just dont see the need to go cheap on them. i paid a lot of money for the ones i wanted. didnt have to, but if im going to look at them every day, then i may as well get what i want.
Glowshift:
Pretty new company, one year warranty(as mentioned), they do a full-sweep (all gauges), a self-diagnostic (the only way they could be accurate). About the only thing I can think of is the glass and the ring, Autometer will always be tops for that one in my mind.
I'm not sure if most people know, but there are only about a dozen stepper-motor manufacturers - and of those, half of them only do stuff for NASA and the like, of which I guarantee you Autometer nor Glow Shift is a customer - think thousands, not a few dollars, per unit.

Autometer makes Autogage gauges too.... They are made my autometer so you know they will work... and they cost a bit less for people that can't afford the expensive stuff..

Would you rather me have compared the accuracy of MS-II to another standalone that costs thousands more? You can monitor and tune with that, so does that work for you?
My point was that they serve the same purpose with no one here offering any evidence to support that they are less accurate than a name brand or have a bad track record with failing. So I don't know why you guys are so quick to downplay a product you have no experience with, just because it costs less. If you like Autometer gauges, that doesn't bother me. People have their own preferences and that's fine. Just don't start making assumptions. That doesn't help anybody.

Got my gauges Wednesday. I ordered them Friday in the early AM. They made it up here from the States in two days, via UPS, and the brokerage fees weren't even that bad.
