idle and lightweight flywheel

wondering if anyone besides me has had to up their idle rpm when using a lightweight flywheel. mine's set to 1100 right now and its reliable, but 1000 or 900 causes some stalls. also the idle in closed loop is lean .. is that normal for the ecu to pull fuel at idle ?

totally reliable in open loop

In closed loop idle it should shoot for stoich which around 14.7, it will fluctuate above and below that.

If the car has rough Idle I could see where a lightened flywheel would cause it to stall out, there is probabally something else going on, the flywheel is just making it aparent because it has less mass/inertia to keep the motor spinning.

mine is at 1100 too. Any less and it will stall.

I have no problems with my idle and my lightened flywheel. To me seems if it idles a little smoother, but I also have some fuel tuning done.

yeah i went with 420cc injectors on my car. the tuning has been real interesting for the idle table.

i had some success over the weekend .. car doesnt stall when i turn the AC and defrost on at the same time anymore (simulating a sudden engine load). the VAC only moves from 80 to 75 when i hit that, but its enough of a change to make the car stumble a little.

i got the idle cells adjusted properly by setting the desired idle speed, logging the data for that cell, adjusting and moving onto the next cell. the car actually idles really well at 1100 rpm now i just want to see if i can get it back to a stock speed at 900 rpm

if you're having trouble getting a stable idle, try advancing the ignition timing a little bit

should give the combustion event a little more 'kick' to keep the engine spinning.

good idea with the set the idle and adjust the cell idea.. i've had this problem creep up every now and again and thats not a bad angle to take.
i personally tweaked the DFCO (deceleration fuel cut off) tables and altered the MAP signals for when DFCO is engaged/disengaged

tweak the MAP and RPM values for DFCO... it turns off so low that the engine doesn't get the fuel to recover in time.

my idle is currently at 900 or 950.. can't remember.. but it does dive quite a bit on occasion, but haven't had a stall in a while.
