I'm new to the site and i was wondering if anyone has hooked up a megasquirt onto the L61(ecotec) before.My dad is thinking about using it on his cavalier with the gm suoercharger kit that is already on.
If he knows how to wire and how to follow the directions in the write-ups on msefi.com, then he shouldn't have much trouble getting it set up.

hello people .. i actually have lots of questions .. about this MS .. have anyone installed this MS on a LD9 ?
im actually interested on getting the MS-II but my question is .. Will i need any other part besides the MS-II connected to my car .. i know i will need a 2 bar map but is there anything else ??

Yes, I've installed a MSII running extra code + error board. Not any "extra" equipment really but you need to decide how you're gonna run the spark.....I've done it two ways, one using the factory Q4 ICM DIS and also a 36-1 EDIS trigger wheel as a straight MSII decode. I would really suggest the 36-1 EDIS wheel but you wont find it supported in our aftermarket vendors so you will have to fabricate a setup to mount the wheel to a crank pulley.
You will need to find out if having the factory ECU throwing codes is a problem for you and/or to what lengths are you willing to fake signals to make it stop.
The MS comes equipped with a 2bar MAP sensor already IIRC....I dont really know as I always upgrade it to the 5 bar and just use the 2bar for baro corrections.
I will tell you that you really need to spend more time in the MS forums if your asking general fishing questions such as yours, not trying to be a dick or anything but being honest. You need to read up on what the MS needs for the ignition, do you want DIS? COP?-need 2nd trigger input for that. You need to read about and understand the capabilities, define goals for what you want to do and whats involved to accomplish them. Again, not trying to be a dick but the first thing to understand about the MS is that it is not vehicle specific, the MS runs engines, not cars.
