AEM Uego Problems
Friday, August 17, 2007 8:15 AM
The numbers on the gauge aren't matching up with the numbers on the laptop. I got a PID from WrenchMonkey, so the work was all done. What could be my problem here? Currently every time I tune the car it just gets more and more sluggish. It got to the point where at WOT at 40MPH the car bogged down, then at about 42MPH gained power again.

I think you may have to calibrate it, or the sensor is bad..

Check the ground connection.

Make sure the gauge and the HPT MVPI is grounded at the same place.

I have them grounded at the same place and still show 0.3:1 difference

Well, that might help...which pin do I use to ground it?

Alright, could another issue maybe be a bad fuel pump? With the vac line connected or disconnected I get 57. Shouldn't the pressure go up with the vac line off since it would simulate WOT?

Yes your pressure should raise by doing this. Check the pump and fuel filter....

I finally replaced my fuel pump (rant about that too follow), but everything is good now. WOT AFR is 12.1:1 so a little tuning is needed, but it feels MUCH better.

So when I was planning on replacing the pump I saw that most were using a Walboro fuel pump. Using the part number on the ORG I located the 255 version, but opted for the 190/hr since I don't plan on boosting. When I got it everything looked good.

Flash to 6 o'clock Saturday night...dropped the tank out...stupid "quick release" clips! So then on Sunday...Matt and I are disassembling the stock sending unit in order to replace the pump. Got to the pump and pulled it out. Pulled the lines off of the stock pump (both were on male ends), but when I went to install them on the new pump the larger line was still a male end, but the smaller line was a female end. We then spent an hour looking for a fitting to connect the line to the pump, to no avail. Finally give up on getting the two ends together around 8 pm and bought the whole sending unit for $255 at Advanced Auto Parts. Got it to his house and had everything put back together by 9:30pm.

Now I have a 190 gal per hour fuel pump and have no use for it. I will contact the place I bought it from to see how to return it unless someone has a use for it.

Well, that AFR was on the gage, but the laptop PID doesn't match up. If anyone on here is running Uego, what is your dial (inset on back) set at?
