O2 sensors, universal fit?
Tuesday, November 13, 2007 1:31 PM
Are O2 sensors universal fit across many/most cars? I can take care of the wiring end, but I'm curious to the physical dimensions like diameter and thread pitch. I want to get a wideband for my 2200 (and my Porsche, but that's another story). I don't need any monitoring electronics, emulators or anything like that, I just need the sensor itself. Is there such thing as a universal fit wideband? If not, can I walk into Pep Boys and buy a sensor for a Civic HX?

most all o2's are 18mm x 1.5

but why not buy a complete unit , its alot less work

your best bet would to be buy a wideband full unit because they come with the sensors needed but threaded pitch does not matter however you want to make sure that you put the o2 sensor about 12-18 inches away from the (end of the turbo) or the end of the end of the head...
