Tuning HPT Style

To anyone interesting in helping me:

I got my new setup today. Have a 04 cav, Added boost controller to my 16G turbo, 2 bar map sensor in place of stock one, HPT, Accel 32# injs. It is inter cooled and I am aiming for 10 psi for now. I have everything hooked up wide band logging into hpt. I have adjusted my injector constant to .15188, stock injs were 24#. Hope this is right. So far it idles rough, has some sputter to it. First of I want smooth this out. Do I need to play with the inj constant or adjust else where? My fuels system is a good pump, forgot the flow rating and brand, and a FPR set 45psi. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

.15188 is way to low of a no. Personally, I read all the posts about injector spreadsheets, etc, etc. I tried applying all the formulas and ended up with a car that idled like shiat. I have 72/lb per hour injectors and my constant is .18500 on an LD9, I came up with a range based on what other people with a similar set-up were running, and adjusted accordingly within that range. Remember, smaller values for bigger injectors, larger values for smaller injectors.

Did you fake the 2 bar and correct all the tables, or just swap the sensor? Also, check your math on the injector constant..

^^ x2

when I faked the 2 bar I raised my injector constant to 3.0..

3.0 seems way high??? I fudged it to .18500 and it idles fair now but now quite perfect. Richer seems to be smoother. Around 11.5 or 12 during idle. I checked my math on the constant formula and I was still coming up with my original numbers. So whatever, I'll keep the .185 for now. I am now begining to aim towards the rest of the tune. Can any one double check the math on this. I apparently can't do math or have the wrong formula.

On another note I went to install the 2 bar map after the idle cleaned up and I am not sure if I have the wrong P/N or what. I cannot find the stock map sensor. Maybe sounds dumb and I feel dumb, but I am not sure where it is on this 04 Cav. The wells map sensor I have is a SU1285, I was told this would plug directly in with no wiring involved. So maybe I'm seeing it but not recognizing it because I have the wrong sensor in my hand to compare? I have never seen one before this so it's all new.

I understand you installed the 2 bar sensor, but did you scale your tables for a fake 2 bar?

No I didn't install the sensor yet. I haven't found where it goes yet.

you guys do realize the map sensor controls minimal fueling in an ecotec right?

a fake 2 bar is borderline... dare I say... completely and utterly unnecessary on an HPT'd 2000+

unless its a s/c reflash but this isn't the case..

Wouldn't you say it is quite important on timing though? At least once a person starts pushing more boost and staying on pump gas? It seems most of the timing is done according to map...

i understand, but the knock sensor still works the same

I WANT to say that the timing maps just repeat the values over and over after reaching the end of the map but I can't really say without doing some testing with an HPT histogram

in which case, it wouldn't make a difference tuning wise because you don't want much more ignition advance past 6400 under boost, AND having the value stay the same, in a way, acts as a retard
