ecotec misfires

I have turbo kit on a ecotec 2004. The car have the following mods.

-Garrett GT3071R
-26x12x3 Intercooler
-650cc Injectors
-Walbro fuel pump
-1 Bar map sensor
-Aluminum flywheel
-Spec Stage 3 clutch
-NGK-LTR7
-Running 8 psi

We did the tuning, car run between 11.4 – 11.8 under boost, tune in PE with HP tuner. Car will run 14.7 when cruising and at idle. We did retard the timing at 100KPA for the boost. When we start the car, we need to press the gas little bit because it die after 1 second if we don’t do that. I think it is the flywheel, it so light that the engine have difficult to keep the engine turning because of less inertia. The only way it would not die is to make the idle run at 1200rpm but the owner of the car find that it is a little on the high side.

Do anybody have this type of flywheel and do they have the same problem ?

We have some misfire issue too, We did put some NGK LTR7 and car will have some misfire under boost so check engine light up. We did try to gap them up to .025 without any success so we did choose to replace them with the stock one gap at .035 and the car will not do misfire for a day and next day the car did start to misfire so we heard someone telling us it was a tuning issue but i don’t think that, because misfire is a component problem (spark plug not gapped, faulty coil, etc.) the tuning cannot affect misfire I think, maybe I’m wrong ????

Any idea on my problems ???

Make sure you disconnect the battery and cold boot the ecu after flashing w/ HPT, that may solve your cold/idle issue.

Be careful my misfire ended up coughing up 1/2 a piston ring. Mine was pretty severe and a worst case scenario. I wouldnt want to know what woulda happened if I was stuffing boost into the equation
