Im looking at a 2002 Saab Viggen with 230hp/258tq turbo charged fully loaded coupe. black and 5 spd with only 12k on it?
21,000 for it...good deal?

i know a guy who's a saab mechanic down in Va - he wouldn't consider owning a Viggen. apparently they have a LOT of problems if bought used.

Like a high powered fwd, expect torque steer. That opel/saab engine is so strong. You may want to check Hirsch (sp) for power upgrades. Oh gotta love that "Night Panel" feels like a jet fighter's cockpit.
But yes it is a deal, but I would knock $2g off, just because.

Thanks for the input's. It's comming from CarMax so I dont think negotiating is an option....lol
i thought viggens were fighter jets that saab made . but still if thats a I4 saab motor thats some good stock numbers
Viggens are Saab fighters, they also named a car after the jet

I thought about the jet right away at first too. Viggen, Grippen, etc.
Saab's are good cars. My first car was an 84 Saab 900 turbo. Sure the earlier Saab's were ugly... but it had 217,000 miles on it when I got it and ran like a champ.
Only thing that sucks about them... if you do need repairs, they're costly. But the only problems that we came across with my Saab (my mom's x bought it new) were the fuel pump and master cylender. Other than that nothing except regular maintenance...
