a friend of mine has a 66 c10 that he just finished resoring... its awesome. won tons of shows with it. they definitely are nice trucks.

I dont get this whole beater thing, you drive a cavalier, thats a perfect car for year round.
some people invest money into the appearance and upkeep of a specific vehicle, in my case my xB. So, my cavalier, which has a lesser appearance (no front bumper, paint scratches, busted windshield, etc) becomes a beater car that is driven in inclement weather so the primary vehicle can remain "safe" in the garage.
a friend of mine has a white one, non long-bed. Still running even on 1.5 million km. They dont make 'em like they used to...
