it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.
ZZP XP cam, 1.6 rockers, 105# springs, speedbuilt FWI, 3.3" modular pulley, TOG headers,
3" exhaust, flomatched injectors
'97 GTP 14.06@100.6mph pre cam w/ 3.5" pulley, I/E

other cars, better cars?
Damn, nice times! I thought they were already in the 6's though according to some old guy on this board. Guess thats what I get for relying on my ls1 info on a jbody board.
Iron block though, right?
Did God come down and celebrate at the track again after the pass?
dave lee wrote:Iron block though, right?
It wouldn't be an LS1 if it was an iron block, since LS1s are aluminum.
I know but all there fastest cars are aftermarket iron block,
So take out the fastest cars if you're not counting them
Read the second paragraph in the last column. They talk about losing count on the number of alloy blocks they have used. Leads me to believe they are still using them.
the LSx motors used in GM's truck line have iron blocks... the ones in GTOs, TA's, and Z28/SS Camaros are iron blocks
I'm confused at what you're getting at?
z28s and the like are aluminum block from the factory.
hell just last year the fastest aluminum block cars were only low 9's and a 8.9 so it would be impressive as hell if it was but seems like they would make a big deal out of it if it was?.
That'd be alot of work to get right. Fast either way.

and LR4, LM4, LQ9 and i think there are more. All are gen III small blocks.
yea thats pretty quick still...right now the shop i go to is building some impressive cars right now.. like a lt1 solid roller rocker forged everything and a twin turbo set up...he was pushing like 400 hp before the twin turbo too.. its gona b ignorent and i cant wait to go for a ride in it.
