alright, who has some info for me? i need some blueprints for lambo hinges... my friend and i are working on our first real project car, a 1979 monte carlo t-top. we're goin crazy trying to find lambo blueprints... neither of us have much cash yet. especially not $1k for some hinges. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Some things just should not be done to some cars. Do you guys have any idea how heavy those doors are? They gotta be well over 300 lbs I'm not sure it'll work right due to there weight.

Agreed. Get rid of the 79 and get an 84 SS. Suicide doors, definately.

All G-body doors are heavy as hell. You'd need coil springs out of a car to pop the lambo doors open.

79 monte = boat anchor, LOOOL my buddy had one of those,yanked the 305 and put a 350 in it, with edelbrock intake manifold, holley carb, shift kit, dual exhaust = slow as fu<k. i remember him getting his ass handed to him by a Dodge Intrepid.

Chris I didn't bash at all. All I said was the doors are heavy as hell man I seriously doubt it'd work right. I had 2 Montes before 76 and a 77 those doors weight a ton as I had to swap them by myself I know of what I speak Suicide doors may be a better choice. But I was in no way bashing at all, what I was doing is called constructive

No Not really lol just don't like it when people try to rice or ghetto up a nice looking car. Here's another peice of advice don't try to lighten the doors unless you add a rollcage for safety or else it could get messy if your hit from the side.

Ok your not gonna believe this but I actualy did find a company that sells lambo hinges already made for this car. But I forgot the mag. that had them at work

i really appreciate the opinions and the help, but....... we are running out of time to work on the car. we have until the beginning week of november. we're just going to get a set of suicide hinges and bear claw latches. it sucks.... oh well, the only reason i wanted to try it was... i haven't seen it done before. just wanted to be different. but now that i know a companmy has the hinges pre-fab'd, nevermind it...lol
