Sold my integra, new car pics
Tuesday, September 20, 2005 1:42 PM
It was time for me to get out of the front drive honda crowd since i was always worried abut theft, and the fact that my car sucked in any driving situation other than drag and freeway

and since supras are worth alot more stock, i bought a 240

mods:
R33rb25det
hks top mount manifold
PT67 with q trim wheel
veilside intake mani
power FC
and a ton of other stuff thats not really all that important
still working out some bugs right now, It was running great with stock turbo, intake manifold, stock ecu, basicly stock. but it was kinda slow, so i did a bunch of crap to fix that

prolly wont have as much horse power as my integra since i am trying ot see how much i can get with a stock block. but it will have more torque

no, the motor never came in any S chassis nissan, the motor is out of the nissan skyline

no the car sucks at drifting since the RB weighs so much more than the stock KA

yes i do have a cam gear cover, if you couldnt tell, its not on in that pic...

put down 427rwhp on 18psi 94 octane pump gas, stock cams. Once i throw the cams in, bump it up to 25psi and run c16 it will be mid 500s based on similar setups

it is in an S14 coupe

true as i also own a hardtop twin turbo supra. but it is worth alot more if it is left stock. plus the cost for anything for that car is WAY overpriced

Very cool purchase man. There is a guy I talked to around where I live with a RB stuffed into a s13 chassis. It is a nice change from seeing all the SR swaps.

Congrats again on the new buy. 240's are a blast to drive.

Have a good one,
Justin

It is going to be really hard to get the same power out of this as my integra without alot of headwork. The rb25 head doesnt flow all that well and really limits power because of it.
there are 900,1000+hp rb25's but none of them are on stock block or stock headports.
500 on pump gas is plenty since i can kinda put it to the ground unlike my last car.

HAHAHAHA...practice, that is a frickin drift monster. or learn how to drive, either way, that is a drift monster. if you need any help, ill happily kick that lovly peice of work sideways for ya.....engine bays a beauty...got any pics of the rest of the car?

Re: Sold my integra, new car pics

^ How is it a drift Monster? The car is very unbalanced now. Its the downfall to any rb swap, however they provide a VERY smooth hp and flat torque curve along with a very smooth exhaust note. Much better then any CA, KA, or SR. Just cuz it makes lots of power doesn't make it a drift monster u newb. Its all about balance and driver. Power comes second.

Re: Sold my integra, new car pics

eh, thinking of how much money i had in the integra makes me pissed. to give you an idia, the last motor that i had in it along with turbo setup, engine management and all that would be upwards of $15,000. that includes all trans work-LSD, clutch, cyro treating, flywheel, axles, hubs, ect.
then i had the suspension, front end conversion, brakes, interior, things like that

i picked the 240 up for $2000 with a blown motor and did the swap and everything myself. made the mounts myself, did the wiring myself ect. doing everytihng myself and sourcing all parts myself added another $11,000 onto the cost of the car. I made alot of the stuff myself, because i have to resources to do so. if i had not sourced the parts myself, and not made alot of them, i would estimate $17,000 for parts and labor ontop of the cost of the car. Just the normal rb25 swap into a 240 will cost from $7-9k for parts and labor. hardest part is finding somone who knows how to do it and finding a place that will have parts.

a stock rb25 240 isnt really a drift moster compared to an sr20 only because of the weight, but it is better than a KA. With the stock setup i got it sideways and held it really good, and had no problem drifting. that was the initial reason for buying the car and doing what i had done. But the novelty of drifting wares off fast and i wanted a fast car again. It will no longer be good at drifting because the flat powerband and torque curve it once had, is gone. big turbo=all top end power. when you let off the gas to control the oversteer, you want instant power once you get on the gas again. a big turbo you will have a great deal of lag everytime you let off. A good drift car has good response, revs freely, has good power and decent weight balance. that is why the freer reving RB20 a 2 liter inline 6 turbo from older skylines is a good candidate because of the flatter powerband, and more power than an sr20.
I am sure it will do doughnuts really damned well, but holding a drift will be really really hard because of the size of the turbo

i defiantly commend you for building the car yourself i have a lot more respect for people who take the time to learn and do their own work anyone can pay someone to do the work its another thing to learn and do. mad props on a bad ass 240.

its not somthing i would tell some kid with limited knowlage to do. This motor was never ment to be in this chassis. the only good thing was that the motor is out of the same year skyline as my 240, so I didnt have to wire 3 of the total wires. not really sure how many there are to wire, since i lost count. also nothing really is a direct swap with this. new mounts, new drivshaft, new throttle cable, new wiring harness. almost like putting a motor from a ford into a nissan
